On Tuesday, March 11th, Bishop Irenei of London and Western Europe, graciously hosted Holy Trinity Publications and a number of guests in the parish hall of his diocesan cathedral for a launch event celebrating the publication of his new book, The Pursuit of Godliness: Five Centuries on Spiritual Ascent.
Nicholas Chapman, our director of publications, had a conversation with Bishop Irenei about his new book. Among the many topics discussed, Vladyka spoke about his motivations for writing the book, offered background on the patristic genre of “centuries” that he utilized in this work, and about the spiritual struggles that Orthodox Christians face today, and how to combat them.
After concluding their conversation, guests were able to ask their questions to Bishop Irenei about the talk. Finally, the Parish Sisterhood graciously prepared some light lenten fare for all of the guests.
